Responsibilities: Provide multi-culturally informed clinical counseling services to students and consultation services to faculty and staff, also provides leadership for, and coordination of, substance abuse intervention and treatment services offered by the Student Counseling Services.
• Consult with faculty, staff and other professionals regarding the mental health needs of students.
• Provide training of staff, psychology interns within the SCS’ APA-accredited psychology internship training program, and other trainees such as doctoral and masters level students from Miami’s APA-accredited Clinical Psychology Training Program.
• Coordinating the provision of judicially mandated and voluntary alcohol and other drug abuse assessments/interventions to students, as well as assuming a leadership role in providing individual and group therapy to students with substance abuse concerns.
• Coordinate the mandatory Substance Abuse Assessment Program (BASICS), including maintaining all relevant records of service provision, trends, and evaluation thereof.
• Provides open enrollment groups (Transformations) for students who need additional services beyond the BASICS substance abuse assessment/intervention but are not ready for a recovery group.
• Intervenes in and serves as a resource for consultations involving substance abuse related crisis interventions.

Utilized online computer based version of Modern Racism Scale, Attitude Toward Affirmative Action Scale, the Color-Blind Racial Attitudes Scale, the American Values Scale, and an adapted version of the Individualism scale for a college student population. Created an online computer based version of the multiple measures. Funded by the Boyer Fund, Department of Psychology, University of Cincinnati.

Topic: Cultural Bias in Observational Family Assessment Measures
Collected data for study via screening families for videotaped interviews. Administered Family Interaction Assessment task. Administered a modified version of the Iowa Family Interaction Rating Scale to college student observers. Created an online computer based version of the modified IFISR.
